We’ve already shared several posts about compliance, covering what’s allowed and what’s not when you buy traffic through our advertising network.
Today we’re diving deeper into how to avoid alert activity and what steps you can take to minimize the risks, especially when working with popunder traffic.
Just like in life, a tiny virus can spread from one person to another. In advertising, one bad redirect can infect the entire chain: your ads, your domains, even your traffic partners.
So how close are you to getting blocked?
If you’re receiving alerts from us almost every day, that’s a serious red flag.
Something in your setup is off. Either you're accepting advertisers without checking their links, in which case your entire quality control process is very questionable, or you're running your own technical or tracking domains that are constantly getting flagged.
And honestly, we start doubting your adequacy at that point, because who on earth deliberately works with such dirty domains?
We always try to be on the client’s side, but we cannot risk the health of our advertising network. These are sites we’ve been building and maintaining for over 20 years, and we won’t let careless behavior damage them.
Yes, we will give you a few chances to remove malware or, god forbid, phishing redirects and ads.
And we’ll allow a bit more time to clean up your own domains, since in most cases these are false positives.
But if you push your luck or tell us it’s just 3 or 4 or 5 databases out of a hundred, we will block your account and stop traffic delivery.
Also, if we receive a serious alert from tech support or observe something critical such as scareware - for example, when simply watching a video on our popunder traffic results in a user's phone being infected - your account will be immediately suspended.
We’re quite sure you wouldn’t want to see a message like that on your own screen.
So why should your users see it?
That said, if you want to buy traffic from a serious ad network, you need to treat that privilege with care.
And if you expect to keep buying traffic long-term, here’s a list of recommended checks and actions you need to follow to avoid getting blocked.
How to clean your own domain?
The process is relatively straightforward, and there are two main options:
Submit a false positive report to the antivirus provider
First, identify which antivirus engine has flagged your domain. Then submit a false positive report through their official portal.
Since this domain is not associated with any actual malicious content or advertising, the provider will most likely review and remove it from their database within a few hours.
*Please note that while most antivirus companies handle these requests professionally, there are cases where the process may be less transparent. Some providers may require you to purchase their software or service before making changes. While this is unfortunate, we recommend staying persistent to ensure your domain is cleared.
Replace the domain entirely
In more complex cases, or if you prefer not to engage directly with antivirus vendors, you can choose to replace the affected domain.
While this option may be more costly and time-consuming, it can be a practical solution for those who prioritize speed or prefer not to deal with the reporting process.
Whichever path you choose, keeping your redirect and tracking domains clean is essential for continued access to our popunder traffic and maintaining good standing within the network.
Reminder: How to Avoid Alerts
Save this somewhere, it can save your traffic
Double-Check Your Domains
Your domain is your responsibility. If it gets flagged, traffic stops. Rotate regularly and work only with trusted providers.
Vet Your Advertisers
Scan all creatives with tools like AdSecure or GeoEdge. Don’t rely solely on automation, check new partners manually.
Use More Antivirus Sources
Google Safe Browsing is not enough. Add Avast, Norton, and Malwarebytes to your QA process to catch what others miss.
Track Every Redirect
Every domain in the chain must be clean. One unsafe redirect can compromise your entire campaign.
Don’t Wait on Warnings
If something is flagged, pause it immediately. Waiting will only make things worse.
Try SSP Mode
SSP mode gives you more control and visibility, reducing risks from external creatives.
Fewer Partners, Better Results
A smaller number of trusted sources means fewer problems and more stable performance.
Let’s keep things clean, compliant and profitable — together.
